Neighbourhood Panels

As you may or may not know, nationally Neighbourhood Panels form an integral part of Neighbourhood Policing. To that end the Neighbourhood Policing Team at Uckfield are keen to re-vitalise the rural panels throughout the villages in North Wealden. Like all community projects, they are only as good as the people that support them in a democratic and positive way.

The principal behind the Panel Meetings held every three months is for the panel members to set the Policing Priorities that the community requires, and it is the job of your local Neighbourhood Policing Team to try to ensure that where ever and when ever possible they are achieved.

Here at Uckfield we have split the villages and ward area’s in North Wealden into three geographical groups, with the group that I am responsible for as follows:

Framfield
Blackboys
Halland
East Hoathly
Chiddingly/Muddles Green
Laughton
Golden Cross

We are looking for a minimum of 2-3 people ( from the whole area) who would play an active part in representing their community as a whole and would be prepared help set the policing priorities. With most peoples time being very precious I am assured that the time commitment to becoming involved with Panels is minimal. It would require no more than a meeting once every 3 months.

If you feel that you would like to play a part in this essential, yet interesting part of community life then please forward your name, address and email address to:

christopher.hardstone@sussex.pnn.police.uk

We would be more than happy to come and meet with you to explain in more detail what involvement you would have. I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
